PROJECT DESCRIPTION

For my Global EDGE project I went to study abroad in Japan and learn about the language and the culture behind the rich heritage of the land. I left the United States in March of 2016 and spent a year in the lovely Prefecture of Hokkaido as an exchange student at the Hokkaido University of Education. My main goal was to learn the language with a high enough fluency level to allow me to converse in the everyday conversations of the people of Japan.  A second goal was to learn about the culture and the people behind it. I have always found Japan to be a fascinating subject and I hope to someday get to the roots of such a magnificent legacy of traditions and customs.
